One proud mom and some mild irritation

Jesse won! He had his second wrestling match in Beaver today and he won his second match (1 out of 3) which put him in 3rd place. You should have seen the priceless look on his face when he won. It was such a boost to him. As soon as I figure out how to edit the video I'll post it. The first half of it is Tyler's friend wrestling. We had so much fun today and when it was all over we got yummy ice cream and squeeky cheese from the dairy in Beaver...Mmmmm.

So on to my irritation. I have one problem with kids sports and it's one of the reasons I didn't really care to put my kids into anything for awhile. The only problem I have with kids sports is their parents. Seriously, these kids are in elementary school, the point is for them to have fun, learn good sportsmanship, get a little exercise and learn that it's ok to win sometimes and ok to lose sometimes. Parents are CRAZY. There are these poor kids (1st, 2nd graders even younger) out there wrestling and trying hard and their dad's are out on the mat screaming at them, making themselves look retarded and embarrassing their kids. Get a grip on life. I'm not kidding today Josh and I watched a dad push one of the ref's and no one did anything. The kid was in 2nd grade! And the poor ref, these guys are high schoolers who are volunteering their time to coach and ref these meets, they should be getting lots of respect and medals of their own. I've noticed it's like that with almost everything though. That's one reason we loved bmx because everyone was super helpful, excited you were there and no one was ever rude that I saw anyway. Anyway, I hope that my kids learn to have fun, work hard and that it's ok to win and lose and to be a good sport no matter what. I hope I NEVER embarrass them in that way....I'm sure I'll embarrass them other ways, they won't need anymore!

I found the cord

And that means picture overload. Sorry about all the new posts, you don't have to read through them all. But since this is like our little family journal of sorts I wanted to post everything that happened in the past little bit while my lowly little camera cord hid in the corner of a box.

Valentines

This is a little out of order but I forgot to post it earlier. One night we were minding our own business watching t.v. oblivious to the world obviously because someone came and put hearts all over our front door and left some yummy cupcakes and rang the doorbell and ran. The boys immediately started pulling them off and looking behind them all for a clue to find out who did it. Those sneaky valentines didn't leave them any clues though. They loved it and were so excited and the cupcakes were delicious. For days afterward they speculated who it might be. Josh was at work and when we told him about it he laughed that we were right here in the living room and never heard or saw a thing.

Thank you whoever you were!!

Jesse's first wrestling meet

Jesse went to his first wrestling meet last Saturday. He did really good for his first one. He got worked over a bit and got pinned a few times but he had lots of fun and got a medal (that's the important part lol). We'll be trying again this Saturday in Beaver...afterward we're going to get squeeky cheese and ice cream mmmmm...

Tracen is 9 months old!

On the 17th Tracen turned 9 months old! I can't believe he really is this old. It goes by way too fast! He is so cute and fun. He seriously is one of the easiest babies ever and we all love him to death.

Here are some things about our little boy:
1.He growls, it's hilarious.
2.He rev's his motor--aka he makes a fist with his right hand and twists it over and over. It's a funny little thing he just does, it's not to show off or anything.
3.He giggles and laughs a lot.
4. He gets really excited to eat
5.He blows raspberries.
6.He says Da da and sometimes Mama
7.He does not love his carseat.
8.He sleeps through the night (usually)
9.He stands all by himself for several seconds at a time
10. He walks around furniture.
11.He has three teeth and he grinds them, drives me nuts!
12.He raises his arms and does "big boy" (see below)
13.He loves tubby time
14.He's into dropping his toys and seeing who will pick them up for him
15.He likes movies with real kids on them (like signing time)
16.He likes popscicles.
17.He has had 4 colds in as many weeks.
18.When I've got to get ready and he won't let me put him down he plays in the sink (see below again)
Here's a video of him blowing raspberries this morning...ignore me please, just listen to him :)

"Big Boy"

Wrinkly feet after tubby time

Tracen loves this toy as long as it's all hooked together. If you take the steering wheel part off to play with on the floor he could care less. It's the whole package or nothing.

Sitting in the sink while mom gets ready.

Good thing I'd just cleaned that faucet. He enjoyed playing with the little boy in the mirror.

Let's do your hair mom!

Dad and Tracen hanging out on the floor throwing the ball in the air. Tracen kept pointing up after he'd throw it.

Look I can stand all alone!

He was watching the dogs outside and laughing and screaming.

MMMmmmmm popscicles!

Pictures of the house

Ok here are the promised pictures. There is crap everywhere though. I still have boxes and piles of stuff waiting for a home. That was my goal this week, but then me and Tracen got sick. There's also our everyday kid clutter. But it's not going away this week so I figured we'll just keep it real and show you our messy house.
We love our red kitchen....much better than the turquoise that adorned the wall when we moved in!
Oops, I guess I could have shut the cupboard before taking the photo. But look my dishes are done!

That couch is going downstairs, it just hasn't made the journey yet.

And here's most of the kid related clutter...can you find the little boy ignoring winnie the pooh and playing with my computer? Someday there will be a mantle above that fireplace. We also like the brown walls better than the robin egg blue we covered up.

Sorry, I forgot to go take one outside...I'm in my socks. I'll get one later.

Old school, new school.

Here are the boys on their last day of school with their teachers at North. We have absolutely loved Mrs Comstock and Mrs. Milianta. They were great teachers and we miss them! The week before we left we also got to go to Jesse's class for a play. His enrichment group put on a Chinese version of cinderella, it was very cute. They made their own puppets and everything.

Jesse and Mrs ComstockTyler and Mrs. Milianta (he was on the verge of tears)

The boys have always wanted to ride the bus. But we always lived too close to the school before. I actually don't think we're any farther away from the school here but they can ride. I take them in the morning because they have to get on like at 7 a.m. but they ride home every day. Here they are getting off the bus on their first day.

quote of the day again

Tyler's new little saying....

"Tracen you're driving the crap out of me!!"

I think this is a cross between 'bugging the crap out of me' and 'driving me crazy' It's set in his mind though because even though I said something to him, he still says it. I also think its funny that since Tracen has become mobile he's become a pesty little brother. They swore that would never happen ;)

Quote of the day

Last night we're driving from Cedar to Parowan and I had this little conversation with Ty:

Tyler:Mom, I'm glad that neither one of our grandmas are ugly.

Me:Uh, well me too Ty.

Tyler: I saw this grandma once that was really ugly, I hope you don't end up like that.

Me:Um, me either Ty, thanks.

Ty:You probably won't mom, I think she was on drugs.

Where do they come up with this stuff?

lots of updates

Well we've been really busy the past few weeks at our house(es). We finished up painting and cleaning the house in Parowan. Last weekend we moved most of the essential living items and spent the rest of the week sorting those out. Unfortunately the cord for my camera is in a box somewhere downstairs yet to be found. Don't worry even though we are without photos, I didn't leave you without any visuals :)

2 Fridays ago the boys had their last day at North elementary. That was a hard day! We have all loved their teachers and friends at North and it was very hard to say goodbye! Last Monday the boys started at Parowan elementary...see here they are:
Don't they look happy there? They are, they have both done really well adjusting. Tyler has Mr. Wilcken and Jesse has Mrs. Rassmusen. They both like their teachers and have made a friend or two. They also like playing with our neighbor Ethan. They're so excited to have a friend right next door.

I've also had quite a few requests for pictures of our new house. As soon as I find the cord...promise. In the meantime, it still looks a lot like this....

Last Sunday we went to my cousin Justin's missionary homecoming, or whatever they call them these days. It was a lot of fun to see him and to visit with my cousins and aunts. Thanks for the fun time and the yummy food. I had lots of fun visiting!

After we got back from St George last Sunday, Crystal cut all the boys hairs (Hairs is plural because Josh thinks it's pointless to get only one hair cut so we get our hairs cut in this family). They looked nice and spiffy for their first day of school.

We wouldn't want to leave Josh out, he got his hairs cut too....

And an update on Tracen. He's standing and not holding onto anything this week. He thinks he's quite big to balance all on his own and has a big smile on his face when he does it. The other two boys were just learning to crawl at this point. He's a go-er (is that a word?) I hope he doesn't walk before he's 1!

Fire in Logandale

So those of you who live in Logandale already know and know more than me. But I was so sad this morning at 6:45 when I started getting texts from my mom and dad telling me that the Logandale church was burning down. I'm so very sad about this. Every major church related event in my life took place in that building until Tyler was born. I was blessed there, baptized, went to countless young women activities, had my wedding reception there. Mom and I played lots of piano/organ duets there. I can remember it before they remodled it and primary was upstairs and everything was green. I remember having a class in that crazy tiny classroom that was randomly stuck at the stairs above the stage. I love that building. So it's a sad day for me as well as for lots of other people I'm sure. My dad said he'd send me some pictures, so I'll post some later but Lauren has some on her blog if you want to see. It's so sad.

Quote of the Day and some pictures

Jesse is in the kitchen telling Josh...."Do you know how Malibu said I was ugly and then Mrs. Comstock said, You're cute (Remembering back to the first conversation I think she actually said he was "dapper" he he) if she thinks you're ugly then she needs glasses. Well guess what, my dream came true, she has glasses now" Ha Ha...this originally happened quite a while ago. It was so funny to listen to him say it.
We saw this out our back window tonight. All I had was my camera phone so the pictures not the best. But there were 16 deer in our yard, 2 2-points and a spike. The other day Jesse saw some out front and got all excited "Dad there's a Buck in our front yard, and a deer too!" lol.

Sorry I'll be filling the request for pics of the new house soon. We finally finished painting everything we're going to paint for now. Josh has one more door to do and we'll be cleaning carpets and everything else tomorrow. Then we'll move in.
