Quote of the Day

Tyler: Is this dog scared or is it on vibrate?

Tracen's new word is Actee (actually)  He says things like "Actee, I have milk"  or "Actee I play outside"  It's pretty funny.

And I promise soon I'll post Lincolns 4 month post....just not today!

Funnies by Tracen

“You gonna die?”  “I save you”

“He feepin’ (sleeping) I feed him this ok?”

While I was trying to take a nice quiet bath by myself I found Tracen playing in my water “I catch a fish!”

“I give you hug”

“Doan (don’t) weave (leave) me!” followed by much screaming and running after me on my way to work.  That one breaks my heart!

“I wan beckfuss ok?” (breakfast)

“Fanks” and “peese”

“What doin’ “

“Ina doit furs ok?

“Peanut jelldy butter ok?”

“huh? Huh? huh?”

“Ina hoad it!” I want to hold it…referring to Lincoln

“Mere kitty!”

“Dis so awesome”

“Whoa ok!”

“I cowboy, yee haw!”

“what dee say?”  then we usually tell him in detail what ever was said, and he sits and listens intently and then answers “oh” it’s hilarious

He ends everything with a big “Ok?” and you have to answer Ok back or he’ll just keep asking

OK?

Thinking can be bad

So there I was this morning this morning sitting in my driveway.  I’d had a pretty long night at work and then stayed up to go to crossfit.  Crossfit consisted of bench pressing a very unimpressive but heavy to me amount of weight and then spending the next 20 minutes running laps alternated with ring rows as many as you can do in a row(ring rows are the cheater version of pull ups when you’re too big of a wimp for the real thing….unfortunately ring rows are hard for me!).  Anyway back to the driveway…I was thinking that I’d tried to hold up the phone to my ear to talk on it on the way home.  I was thinking it was a good thing the person didn’t answer the phone because my arm was too tired to hold it up that long.  And why is this important?….

Both kids were in the back seat asleep and I’m sitting there thinking if I can’t even hold a phone up to my ear, how the heck am I going to get the kids in the house?

Just a thought.

Funny Boys

Tracen has provided a lot of entertainment this week.  Some of it good, some not so good.  He’s gotten into quite a bit of trouble too!
This morning I was feeding Lincoln and Tracen was driving his jeeps all over my bed, my legs etc.  He kepts saying things like “oh man!” and “Whoa!” He makes great jeep noises as well. He finally parked the jeep next to my legs and said “he’s home”  What’s funny is he says “oh man” with kind of a growly voice, it’s hilarious.  Then he took a trip off the bed and that adventure was over!
I put Lincoln in his bed so that I could get up and do a few things like brush my teeth.  This is what I found when I came back around the corner… DSC_0316
Guess he was concerned Link would get lonely or something.
Last night he was up on the table squatted down and growling at everyone.  Someone asked him if he was a man-eating frog.  He smiled big and said “I a manee fog”
He helped me with the peas and beans yesterday…

Then when I went in the other room to change Lincolns bum he dumped them all out all over the living room.
The other morning he wanted to eat his breakfast on the back porch.  It was cute.DSC_0308
As you can see he keeps letting his kitty in the house.  As a side note these are the Pj’s he was wearing the other night in my last post.
Tracen has started telling us when he has done his thing in his diaper.  Sometimes before.  And lately he’s started taking off his diaper and then telling us.  Not fun.  Especially the day he got it on his feet while taking off said diaper and grinding it into the carpet.  So not fun.  So we decided since I had a little over a week off this past week that we would try to potty train him.  We got him all excited, bought pull ups and a Lightening  McQueen potty seat.   He was so excited that he sat on it once.  He still thinks its great, He thinks everyone should use his seat, especially me!  Everyone except for him.  He gets this  furrowed eyebrow look and a high squeaky voice and says things like “I doan poop toelet” (I don’t poop on the toilet-imagine a southern drawl you’ll get it") or “I no poop McQueen!” all while shaking his head no.  But he’ll follow everyone else into the bathroom and try to slip the McQueen potty seat on the toilet while you’re not looking.  So we’ve changed tactics.  We’re trying to get him to not take his diaper off until after he’s told us he’s gone.

Lincolns got his own set of issues.  He’s started biting me when he eats.  But how can you get too mad at a face like this?DSC_0306
He’s so dang cute.  I sure wish he’d sleep better at night though.  We’re still getting up 2-3 times per night.  Tracen spoiled me with his amazing sleeping capabilities.  I’m afraid I’m going to be a walking zombie for quite some time yet.
He sure is fun though.  In the mornings he lays there and smiles, talks, kicks and waves his arms around.  He can almost roll over too.  Once he figures out how to get over that last little shoulder hurdle he’ll be on his tummy.  I don’t think he’ll like it much once he get there but he’ll be there all the same!DSC_0312
Guess I better run, Tracen just let the cat in again.  I think I throw that thing out 6 times a day or more!

Bedtime Routines

Sorry if this story is boring, it’s just for my own journaling purposes!

Tracen used to be so easy to put to bed.  I’d brush his teeth (hopefully!) read a story or something, say his prayers for him (he’d fold his arms but never said his own prayer or even repeated what you were saying) and throw him in his crib with a sippy of water and a blanket and pillow and say good night.  He’d lay down and go to sleep.

The past two nights as I’ve been trying to get him to go to sleep I’ve thought about how much that’s changed lately!  The day he learned to climb out of his crib his easy to bed routine changed a lot!  Tonight was a pretty typical night

I took Tracen and Lincoln in their room, diapers changed, jammies on…Tracen picked “green ones” which are really brown but pretty much everything is green to him these days.  They were the full body type.  Then we read two books which turned into 5 or 6.  Lincoln was asleep at this point so I put him to bed in my room.  Back to Tracen’s room.

Lights off!  “I’m scared” “no you’re fine lay down”  He now repeats his prayers. For seriously like 20 minutes he’s down and sitting up and rolling over and needs a drink, needs a blanket, needs a soft blanket.  If it weren’t sorta cute I might go crazy.

Then laying together on his toddler bed (you should have seen it when I was 8 months pregnant!) we discuss the important things in life like nose boogies, his and mine, and other important things to two year old boys.

This boy LOVES to have his back and belly scratched.  Problem is he wants his skin scratched, none of this over the shirt stuff.  Remember what kind of jammies he picked out?  So before it’s all over I’ve unsnapped the bottom of his jammies and I’m scratching his back then he’ll roll over for his belly and say “this one”  then back on his belly so I can scratch his back “this one” then he starts in with various limbs.  His foot “this one” other foot “this one” Then each leg, then his belly, then his foot, then his back.  The kid is like 75% asleep and he’s still rotating through body parts to be scratched “this one”  His poor wife is going to go crazy scratching his back every night.  He’s kinda like a big dog.

He finally falls asleep like an hour after we start this whole routine.  I’m not even sure why I put him in jammies because I cover him up with his blanket, pj’s undone up around his waist and all and sneak out of his room.

I love that kid.

Karate

Jesse started karate lessons this summer and has loved going every week.  Tyler started when school started and he is liking it a lot as well.  This week Jesse earned his yellow belt.  He was so excited.  His instructor makes them promise to do something at home to help earn the belt as well as try hard in school and keep their room clean.  Bonus for me!  Here are some pics of him.  He didn’t want to just stand there so he posed ha ha.

She said they’re both doing really well.  Jesse we’re proud of you!

County Fair

The boys were so excited to enter some of their stuff in the Fair this year.  They took a painting class this summer and each had two oil paintings to enter.  Jesse created something with legos as well…which to my surprise there were lots of lego creations so I let him enter it.  Ty had been begging me to help him make a quilt and he wanted it done in time to enter it in the fair.  He was thinking along the lines of a pieced quilt.  I told him he was going to have to have a chat with his grandma about that one, but  if he wanted I’d help him make a rag quilt :)

When we showed up to find their stuff Ty immediately saw his quilt with a big pinkish-purply ribbon on it with reserve sweepstakes.  He was one very happy boyDSC_0305

Then we found their paintings (except one) and Jesse’s legos.  Blue ribbons all around and happy boys!DSC_0307

K well Ty doesn’t look so happy, but he was really.

Ty couldn’t find his last painting though.  We looked all around for it.  He finally went and asked if they knew where it was and they did.  I was shocked that they’d know where one little boys painting was until I found out where it was.  It was in the sweepstakes area!  Ty won a big purple ribbon for his painting!  He was so excited!  He won quite a bit of money for his two big ribbons too and they each won some for their blue ribbons which will help with their Wii fund :)

Ty with his sweepstakes painting!

Camping

Last week we decided last minute to take a camping trip.  We loaded up the trailer and headed up Beaver Mountain.  Crystal and Kurt came with us too.
The boys shot the bow.
Grandma and Grandpa Neilson came up Sunday afternoon for lunch.
Tracen was so funny with Crystal.  At one point he gave her kisses one right after another.  He had to kiss her on the lips (cheeks were not ok) and he'd wipe off his mouth inbetween each one.  I bet he kissed her 40 times or more.  Then he sat by her in the chair and fed her crackers.  I think Kurt was jealous :)
Sunday afternoon everyone but me and Lincoln went for a hike.  Ty took my camera and here's what he got...
There are a billion pics of mushrooms
And three pictures of these....whatever.
Josh got a little cozy with Kurt.  I don't think Kurt wanted me to take his picture with Josh snuggling lol!!
Tracen waving at us on our drive up the mountain.  He was so funny!
