Not having a computer has really put a damper on my blogging! It's probably a good thing that I don't spend as much time on the computer though.
Last weekend we went to Lake Powell with Josh's family and the Guymons. We had tons of fun! I have a love/hate relationship with our boat. I love having a boat and it's big and holds all our crap but it always has some kind of a problem. We have yet to go to Lake Powell without some kind of malfunction. They range from minor to major. Luckily this time it was only a minor problem. Something about a fuel jet and a carberator (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) on the "good" motor. One of the motors wouldn't start for a bit. No worries we were only 60 miles up the lake at hole in the rock. But between Josh, his brother, Dana and just about every other male present they got it going again. My favorite part was the fire extinguisher they had ready to go.
The first day we found our beach, got set up and the kids played in the sand. It was lots of fun! We had a great beach that fit all 7 boats 5 or 6 tents and however many people we had...it was a lot. I think it's one of the best beaches we've had so far.
The next day we went up to dangling rope and then to hole in the rock. No one in our boat (us and the Guymons) had ever been there. It took a long time to get there but it was really cool to see where the pioneers came through and it's amazing to think that they made it down that hill alive. Dan, Ethan, Josh, Tyler and Jesse started the hike up the hill. Dan, Ethan, Josh and Jesse came back down after going part way, but Tyler went all the way up with Jade and Kaylynn. Kaylynn said he did awesome and never complained the whole time and thought it was way cool. The rest of us lazy folks floated in the water, sat in the boat and got in a fight with another boat who forgot to mention that they'd like us to move so that they could pick up their hikers until after they were already mad at us. We thought it was kinda funny, especially when they didn't like where we moved to. We didn't move fast enough or far enough for them. When there's 6 boats it takes a little while to get them all out of the way. It was hilarious listening to everyone being onery with each other. Josh and Dan decided next time they'd stand out on top of the boat and be "crane" and show off their Karate moves, while Dan is a bikini. That would be awesome.
The third day was the funnest for me. We sat on the beach, the kids all played in the sand (and there's a lot of kids these days!) We knee boarded and tubed and ate lots of food and visited with everyone. I hadn't knee boarded in YEARS. I went with Kaylynn's Crystal and I wrecked, it was awesome... Jesse and Ethan knee boarded. Ethan did awesome for never having knee boarded before. Oh and Josh and Dan knee boarded too. That was funny! Then they all tubed. Megan also joined in on that activity!
Then we loaded up and headed for home. The ride home always seems kinda long because I'm so tired but we do have a few highlights. Wendy's in Kanab and the lady who forgot she wasn't still at the lake. She was proud of what she had...and her beer belly. We had to divert the boys attention a little. Then the part where we hit a deer, and then our boat hit the deer and then Dan and Megan hit the deer. That was fun too. Luckily no damage to our truck!
It was a fun trip! Thanks Guymons for going with us! I only got a few pics because my battery was low...dang.
