Just Me and the Neilson Boys
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's learning to dance in the rain

Independence day/weekend

We had a lot of fun this year!  We started out on Saturday with the Parowan parade.  I love this parade!  It's short, sweet and they throw a lot of candy.  And unlike the Cedar parade not every business in town slaps a sign on the side of their pickup and drives it down the road.  There were actually a few floats and everything. Ann, Jerry, Crystal and Kurt joined us for the parade.  It was lots of fun and Ty and Jesse helped Tracen hone his candy getting skills.  Jesse even ended up with a t-shirt.  The sister missionaries were sitting next to us and they gave the boys some of their candy, so we donated them our roll of paper towels we caught that M&D were throwing!  Then we had a little bbq at our house.  Jade and Kaylynn's family joined us for that and my parents and David and Jacob stopped for a burger and to pick up their trailer to head to the family reunion.  Crystal made an awesome trifle.  It was so pretty I took a picture :)  Then we went swimming at the Jorgensen's house (Ann's neighbor) Tracen got brave and sat on the top step!  ha ha.  Jesse and Tyler had fun swimming with Jaxon, Jorgensen's son.  That night we lit off fireworks with the Guymons and watched the Parowan fireworks.  We kept thinking they were over but then they'd start up again.

Sunday we went to church.  I was supposed to go to my cousins baby blessing but I'm a loser and totally forgot that morning.  Way to go.  So instead I went to church and realized that I've ruined Tracen trying to get him to go to nursery the past few weeks.  I was alone and pretty proud of myself that I made it through sacrament meeting fairly quietly.  It took a new set of twistable crayons and a coloring book but we made it.  As soon as the closing prayer was over Tracen burst into tears and kept saying "Mom Truck!"  I went with him to nursery which lasted a whole 3.5 minutes until the primary realized they had no pianist.  So Tracen, Lincoln and I went to Primary instead.  Tracen only tried to play the piano a few times and then sat on Ty's lap and fell asleep.

After church we went and visited Grandma Bev, it was lots of fun to see her.  Tracen tried several karate moves in her front room.  Then the boys and I drove up and found the Guymons in Brian Head and watched the fireworks there.  I have to say the Brian Head fireworks are the best ones.  But they have a pretty crazy party going on up there!  There are tons of people!  And they all stopped at the smoke shop on their way from Vegas and California.  It makes for a pretty good pre-show.  Last year Josh and I had duck and cover plans because we were next to a few intoxicated peeps with roman candles and such.  the fun never ends!

Monday we relaxed, cleaned and Lincoln had a sour belly, so we stuck pretty close to home.  Oh and Josh worked the whole weekend, so most of the time it was just me and the boys.

See more suckers!

That parade looked awesome! And, seriously don't stress about forgetting the blessing. I forgot about Cortney's babies blessing in June. haha :)
