Camping

This past weekend we went camping.  We left on Thursday I think.  We planned to leave Wednesday but didn't get out of here until Thursday afternoon.  We'd originally planned on going over to Escalante but decided on the mountain instead.  I'm so glad we did.  It was lots cooler and lots of fun.  The Guymon's and Josh's parents came too.  It rained part of almost every afternoon.  We came home Saturday night, threw in some wash, went to church on Sunday and repacked and went back up for a few more days.  Sunday through Tuesday we were on our own though.

There were tons of mosquitos and we used tons of bug spray!  Saturday we (Josh, me, Tyler, Jesse, Tracen, Lincoln, Sadie, Ann and Vaughn) went on a hike to Lowder Ponds.  It was about 5 miles.  Lincoln went with me in the front carrier, Tracen with Josh in the backpack.  Monday we decided to take a little trip to Panguitch Lake to get an ice cream and we ended up in Bryce Canyon.  Not sure how we got so off course :) but we stopped and looked around and checked out the hoodoos and drove back.  We had two different Grandmas checking out Tracen.  They were funny.  We got our ice cream on the way home.  Then we came home this morning.  Lincoln did pretty good, we had a few rough nights but they probably would have been rough at home too.  I would have never taken him or Tracen camping though without the trailer.  Especially since Tracen doesn't stay in his sleeping bag!

The boys (Ty, Jesse and Ethan) built a fort.  They did a pretty good job!
We made LOTS of smores.  In fact, Monday we had to buy more smore stuff.  I'm pretty sure I probably gained like 10 pounds eating smores.  Tracen loves "mallows"

Ty on the other hand loves grasshoppers.  Yep that's right.  I think he ate 3.  Ethan helped him grill them up in a tin can and then Ty ate them.  He is his father's child I guess.  Ew.

Dan and Megan brought this green chair with them.  Both Tracen and Addi thought it belonged to them.  Tracen really was wrong about that but try to convince him.  Sometimes they fought over it and sometimes they remembered that both their bums fit in it at the same time :)
Tracen likes to beat up Dan.  He would walk up to him and take a swing or poke him and say "poke!"  Dan had quite the group of followers, Tracen and Jerry.  They followed him everywhere.  Jerry and Dan fed eachother full of crap too.  It was funny.

Tracen and Addi picked flowers for everyone.  This bouquet is for Grandma.  It was really cute to watch him tramp across the meadow with the flowers....roots and all.

Jesse burned his finger.  I'm sure it hurt bad.  It blistered immediately.  Here he is holding the only ice we had on it

This is me and Lincoln hanging out
