Science Fair

The boys had their science fair today. They had a lot of fun doing their projects.

Ty has wanted to do his on monocots and dicots since our family reunion last summer when Grandma Whitney explained what they were and how to tell the difference (I had to look it up!). He grew some corn seeds and some bean seeds in gelatin to watch what they do and then went out and found examples in the yard, which at this point are few and far behind but we're thankful for some daffodils, tulips and some early blooming weeds :)

Jesse launched balloon rockets on fishing string and straws. He had a lot of fun and guessed right that the biggest balloon would go the farthest. When I asked him why he thought that and he said "because mom it's going to blast through the air!" He got third place and was excited about that after awhile (he was hoping to win!) One of the judges is a doctor in the ER I work with and he came over and told me he'd talked to him earlier and was cute and really shy. I wasn't suprised!
