Out to make some money.......

How do kids typically make money during the summer? A lemonade stand of course! Ty and Jesse decided to open a store the other day. Unfortunately their mother (in her infinite wisdom of course) decided that they should open a store in the backyard, instead of the front. Why? Because I knew I couldn't stay outside all day with them and we have such high caliber people who walk by our house each day on their way to their ladder climbing jobs at Burger King and Wendy's or just walk by for fun. Well that was my excuse anyway. They sold quite the variety of items including use of the phone book for $0.70.

The boys quickly started emptying their piggy banks to fund the store and I could see quite a problem in the works later with this when they had to split it back up. I *suggested* to them that they make their very own money (won't that be fun!). They bought into it and had fun making their very own money. This was especially fun when they realized that you could make the money any amount they wanted. The coins were triangles and we had amounts such as $0.52 and $3 bills. They kept the store open for 2 days but moved the operation inside on the second day because dad had to go to work and mom didn't spend the whole day outside.

I bought my share of otter pops, juice and bracelets (rubber bands) and they even sold me diapers for Tracen on the second day. I even got a receipt from Jesse that he wrote himself. They were pretty cute salesmen.
