I've entered the realm of full-time work for the time being. In all actuality I take on enough extra shifts I'm not really working that much more, but maybe it's the thought that it's mandatory and not optional. One of the girls I work with is on bed rest with her pregnancy so I'll be working for her until she comes back from maternity leave.
I'm (as we speak) working my 4th shift in a row, which really isn't bad....normally. But this weekend (I know you're all thinking, honey it's Wednesday) has just been one of those where I walk around occasionally chanting "I love my job". Saturday night I started out with a code, who we saved and then lost. We had a transfer and a admit or two and this continued most of the night. Sunday morning my car wouldn't start...ya. It's 7:30 in the morning and all I want to do is go home and go to bed. Josh and Vaughn were kind enough to rescue me and fix my car.
Sunday night was more of the same type of busyness. Last night wasn't too bad except for the situation that required my full change of clothes mid-shift. That made me a little onery. Besides that I lost my long sleeved shirt in that full clothes change and I froze my butt off all night (the ER is freezing at 3 a.m.) and the fact that I'm an idiot and didn't take a coat so I started my car early so that it'd be warm. I decided I'd rather have my car stolen than be cold.
Then Tuesday (which is still today to me by the way) I got to hang out with Tracen and sleep while Josh was at work. It was great fun, I slept on the floor, Tracen crawled all around, pulled my hair, poked my eyes and then called a few people on the phone and breathed in their ears for a while. It was really cute when he crawed up and curled up next to me and took a 3 hour nap. The best news of all, it has been a great night! I think we've seen like 5 patients, the ambulance just transported to Beaver instead of here, it's awesome! And it's my last night. After this I have 8 days of non workingness until I do it all over again.

I'm sorry! IF I was there I would bring you a HUGE Diet Coke and fried mushrooms and you could complain all you wanted to me! Hang in there!
Really...I can take Tracen when I am home!!! It is no problem. If I were you I would probably be dead right now. Seriously, let me know how I can help! I am glad to hear you have a week to rest up!
Can't wait to see you on Monday! I am excited for you to train! I think you'll really love it! Cya then!
Craziness! Hang in there. Brianne had her first code the other day. A 2yr old. She works at a pediatric hospital so I guess they will all be kids. Hard stuff! The kid made it but she said she wasn't ready to talk about it yet. Hats off to nurses!
Wow! For sure, what Raegan said. You nurses are amazing! I'm glad you got to hang out with Tracen.
