I can’t believe it really, I have a 10 year old. It seems so crazy. Ty’s birthday was last week on the 21st. One thing we struggle with each year with Ty’s birthday is the deer hunt. Ty was born on the opening day and so every year, the opening day is near or on his birthday. Sometimes that can make things a little difficult when it comes to getting people to his parties.
In the past Ty has gone with inviting 1-2 friends, going out to eat and then to a movie or bowling or something like that. This year though, he wanted a party, so a party he got. We decided to do everything Halloween themed and we had lots of fun putting everything together.
Ty wanted to take treats to his class. I found these cute mummies and ghosts on the How Does She? blog and we had a lot of fun making them together. 30 of each!
For Ty’s birthday we did pizza with Halloween themed toppings like Beasty bites, toadstools, shredded brain and Slab of Skin.
His cake was called “Trifle of Death” in the book we found it in. It looked totally gross, but something a 10 year old would love. He did…
The punch was like Punch from the black Lagoon or something like that…
The kids played fear factor, which grossed some of them out. We had them feel different things and guess what they might be. Like Oatmeal was brains and Spaghetti was intestings, Raisins were witches warts etc. Then they all ran around the house trying to find the most pumpkin stickers for a prize.
Then Ty opened his presents. He got lots of candy!
Jesse left for scouts and came home looking like this…
Don’t worry, it looked real, but it wasn’t. He had a pretty good story to go with it!
I think Ty had lots of fun at his party! We’re glad everyone could come!
On Saturday we had a little family party for him. My parents came with us and we went out to dinner. It was super yummy, then everyone came over for cake and ice cream. I made him a cheesecake that had a spiderweb on top. I’ve never made a cheesecake like this before and it was really stinking good!
Don’t mind that I don’t match at all!
Opening presents…one of Ty’s favorite presents that he gets every year is in that cardboard box. Grandpa brings him a box of chocolate milk. Everyone else in the fam tries to drink it, he tends to get a little upset!
Thanks to everyone who made Tyler’s birthday special. Tyler we love you buddy! Thanks for everything you do at home and for being such a good kid wherever you are!
