My baby turned 1

I can’t believe Lincoln is one year old already!  Time goes by way too fast.  This weekend I’ve been thinking about how I need to spend more time with the kids and just enjoy being with them and not worry about other stuff quite as much.

But back to Lincoln…He is so much fun and is one of the joys of my life.  He’s usually a happy boy.  He’s so active and loves to be around his brothers.  He’s been walking for several months now but this month he started using as his main mode of travel.  It makes me kind of sad because he’s lost his cute gorilla crawl.  This month he got a mouth full of teeth.  He got 4 top teeth pretty much all at once, which made for an unusually grumpy little boy.

He follows me all over the house and loves to be where ever everyone else is.  He’ll wrestle with his brothers and really go after them.  It’s pretty funny.  He loves to be held and will snuggle up to you and say “awwww” but then he wants down and to roam free.  He loves to be outside and heads for the nearest open door he can see.

He talks and sings a lot.  He’ll jabber while he plays and sing along with you if you’re singing.  He loves patty-cake and claps and sings along.  If you growl at him or wrestle or get rough with him at all he’ll growl right back at you.

He still takes two pretty good naps a day.  He especially loves his morning nap.  By 9:30 or 10:00 he’s ready for a nap.  He has two minky blankets he loves and I just put it up by his face and he goes right to sleep.  He loves his bottle too and gets upset when he can see it but doesn’t have it.  He’s going to have to get over that one pretty fast though because it’s going to disappear in the next week or two!

Tracen sings lots of songs to Lincoln that are specific to him “Stinky Linky” which he made up himself and “Little Linky foo foo” (little bunny foo foo)  He also sings a wonder pets song that we changed the words to go along with changing Lincolns diaper.  I hope that Tracen and Lincoln stay and become good friends.

Lincoln I love you little buddy!  I’m so grateful that Heavenly Father sent you to o ur family.  You are our little ray of sunshine.  Everyone in our family is always happy to see you and breaks out into a big smile when they see you.  Happy Birthday!!

And now for some pictures:

He’s thinking of taking up the harmonica:

I could hear him squealing in the other room so went to see what was up.  He’d climbed on his bike and was having fun driving it…so cute.  Don’t mind the disastrous room.  It’s what happens when the older boys “clean up.” If it belongs in their room they throw it in and shut the door.

So fun that you can play the piano too, so you can do duets with your kiddos! So fun!
