A few weeks ago the Moapa Valley Arts Council did a night honoring my Grandma Whitney and the Nelson’s and our musical heritage. It was a quick trip but the boys and I ran to Logandale for the concert, spent the night and then came back the next day. I’m so glad we went!
None of these pictures are my own, they were all stolen from Amy and Lauren. I’m glad someone remembered a camera because I sure didn’t!
They started with some dance band music from the 20’s complete with dancers…the Dalley’s and the Bachelors.
My Grandma, Aunt Judy, Aunt Susan and Aunt Gaye all played a 8 hand 4 piano piece.
My Dad sang with some of his sister, his mom and my cousin.
Jill played an amazing song on her violin and sang some songs she wrote on her guitar
The night ended with the Nelson family band that we all love. I loved when all their kids got up and played with them best part of the night :)
At the end all the family “got” to get up and go up on the stage and sing country roads. Don’t worry I’m there….hiding in the back
I love watching/listening to my Grandma play. She played for a good portion of the program. Here are some pictures that I just loved and wanted to include!
This one is just amazing!
I’m really glad I went! I sat down right in front of Jill’s kids and I teased Jackson most of the time. He was a good sport and enjoyed it I think. :)
