San Diego

Josh picked me up on Saturday morning at work and we headed down to San Diego. It was a LONG drive but we all did ok. I tried to sleep, I think Tracen slept some and the boys watched movies. Thank goodness for dvd players!

While we were in San Diego we visited Sea World. The boys loved it, even Tracen. The first thing they saw was Shamu and they were yelling and excited and talking loud and fast to eachother. We went to the first Shamu show of the day and the boys sat in the soak zone :) They insisted on sitting in the soak zone for every show. I think the dolphins got them the most wet!

Tracen was so funny, we didn't think he'd care much about anything...he was just along for the ride. But he really loved it. He danced to the music and watched the shows and really checked out all the animals. He was such a trooper. He missed his entire first nap and was still a happy boy all day long

They were having a fiesta at Sea World so Ty and Wyatt tried on these awesome sombreros.
A picture with the beer wagon....Josh took this one, not me. You'd think he'd have gotten some pics with them and the huge horses that they attach to the wagon, but no, just the wagon with beer crates in them.

Holding the star fish. They had these tide pools and you could stick your hand down in and hold the starfish.

Monday we drove down to the Ocean and checked out a few ships. These were cool old looking ships. It was a little pricey to take a tour so we just admired them from 20 feet away...still very cool.We did tour the USS Midway which is a retired aircraft carrier. It was in service from WWII through the Gulf war. Those ships are amazing. They had little hand held things with earphones for the tour. The boys (all of them...especially the big ones) Thought that the ship was awesome. They all took a little simulator ride as well.

Then we went to the beach. You know those birds on Nemo that are really annoying? Ya, they are in real life too. Here they are dive bombing our food and Ty trying to chase them off :)

Tracen checking out the ocean water. It really was pretty warm considering how cool it was outside.

Jesse and Wyatt playing in the Ocean. We found some beaches in the bay so there weren't the big waves and all the kids could play. They had fun
Oh and Sunday night we went and found the San Diego Temple. It's really beautiful and looks amazing when you come around the corner on the freeway and all of a sudden it's there and all lit up. The grounds were closed so we didn't get to go in but we pulled over for a minute

And then we piled in the car and headed to Anaheim, which will be the post above this one because I'm doing this in chronological order, which really puts it backward :)
