Tracen's 1st Birthday!

Today is Tracen's birthday! I can't believe how fast the year has flown by. We love our little boy so much and can't imagine life without him. Grandpa Neilson's birthday was yesterday so we had a little combined birthday party for him and Tracen. I, of course, forgot my camera, so until I hook Kurt's camera up to my computer I'm without birthday photos. He had a little bee cake though that he thoroughly pulverized into a green slimy mess. I think he did the best job out of any of my kids with his birthday cake. Come to find out he's allergic to something, probably some color of dye, because he got a rash on his face wherever the icing touched. We'd already given him benadryl for a runny nose so we couldn't drug him more. We had fun though and he made out with some fun toys and great clothes. Grandpa Neilson got a huge water blasting rocket and a remote control airplane that everyone had fun with as well.
Today for his birthday we went to church (fun I know) me and the boys because Josh had to work. That was fun. Tracen's normal nap runs from about 9:30 to 12:00....we go to church from 9-12. He decided today to not nap during church, we spent Sunday school and part of relief society in the hall. He got lots of practice backing down the stairs. He went up and down and up and down and up and down...and you get the picture. After church we went with Grandpa to turn on the water at the cabin at Panguitch lake. We spent the afternoon swinging on the porch swing. Tracen ended the night in the Tubby with his new bath toys.
This is the only picture I got from today:
  • Even though he's still a sweet fun baby that's mostly smiles, he has developed an attitude lately. If you're not doing what he wants or you have his bottle and aren't giving it to him, don't think he won't yell at you.
  • He says things like "goligoligoli" other jibberish and shakes his head no. He "talks" a lot now
  • It's now possible he might walk some day as he's been letting us help him walk around lately.
  • He loves his tubby time and splashes and plays for a really long time.
  • He makes the biggest mess when he eats. After a little bit he starts dropping things on the ground, food, sippy cups etc, it makes the biggest mess! Crystal says I need one of those mats you put under him them roll up and shake outside. Didn't know they made those.
  • He finally figured out how to drink out of a sippy cup! Right before we went to Disneyland, thankfully. Everytime he ate I just kept handing him that dang cup and he'd chew on it and throw it and smile at me and clap. But he'd never suck on it. So about a week ago he finally did. Now we can transition out of the bottle!
  • He's a cuddler, he will put his head on your shoulder and say "aoohhhhh" over and over. Be careful though occasionally he bites!
He's decided grass is ok and will now touch it.
I always think of great things to say about him when I'm not posting but at the moment I'm out of further ideas...sorry. We'll hopefully be getting some new pictures done soon. Hopefully family ones too :)

Don't you love that his shorts are almost around his knees and his diapers hanging out!

Has it really been a year already? Times flies WAY too fast!

Disneyland looks like it was a blast! It was so fun seeing you at the What Women Want show! Next time you come down we need to make it for fun and not work. Jumping Jacks with the kids or something.

My boys both have that reaction to icing. I finally decided to leave a cupcake unfrosted just for them. Tracen is such a doll!!!!
